x Semponium 'Halo' quick care tips

Watering

The x Semponium 'Halo' would like watering between once and twice per week in the peak growing season. It is advised to reduce watering when plants are dormant due to a heatwave and to significantly reduce/ stop watering when conditions are frosty.

Feeding

x Semponium 'Halo' likes to be fed to bring out its best forms and colours. We recommend feeding with a liquid seaweed feed every 2 weeks in the main growing season from April to September. A feed we recommend is the one from our friends at LittleGreenSeaweed.

Ideal soil

x Semponium 'Halo' needs free draining soil to thrive. We recommend a mixture of 1/3 John Innes no.2, 1/3 perlite and 1/3 coconut coir. The soil mix we offer here is similar in composition to this.

x Semponium 'Halo'

The Surreal Succulents intergeneric hybrid x Semponium 'Halo' is named for the white edge that develops on each leaf when exposed to strong light. Its growth form resembles that of a Sempervivum, forming compact clumps as it spreads.

The leaf shape, however, resembles that of an Aeonium, resulting in a perfect combination of both parent plants. This unique blend of characteristics makes 'Halo' a visually appealing and interesting addition to any collection.

A lovely new plant

Having been an “early adopter” of the new inter-genus Semponium plants when they were first introduced with great excitement at Chelsea, I thought that I should buy my latest variety “Halo”. It arrived a few days ago and here it is safely potted up and ready for the winter(along with various other Surreal Succulent!)
