Surreal Succulents is an award-winning nursery, specializing in rare and unusual succulents. Our passion for unique plants has earned us several prestigious awards, including:

Our vision is to share our extensive collection of succulents, which began in 2000, with plant enthusiasts across the globe. We take pride in offering the rarest and most remarkable varieties of succulents, nurtured by our knowledgeable staff of expert horticulturists.

Our RHS Chelsea Gold Medal winning display is on show for most of the year at our nursery.

We let our plants mature outdoors all summer in Cornwall, bringing out some of the most vibrant colours you could ever see in the succulent world.

Our beautiful nursery is located in the far west of Cornwall, within the stunning grounds of Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens, near Penzance.
We specialize in a wide variety of plants, including:

  • Succulents (from rare and exotic to UK-hardy varieties)
  • Palms
  • Ferns
  • Grasses
  • Other rare and exotic plants from all corners of the world

When you visit, you’ll be welcomed into our Curious Cabin, which is topped with a bespoke succulent green roof. Inside, you’ll find a carefully curated selection of gifts, including:

  • Succulent terrariums
  • Air plants
  • Handmade porcelain pots by local artisans
  • Greeting cards

And more, all beautifully displayed on our handcrafted shelves.

Bigger and Better!

We sell larger plants at our nursery than you can find on this website. Here, you can see a variety of large Agave and Aloe on our shelves for sale.

Things to Do During Your Visit

In addition to browsing our extensive plant collection, you can explore the magnificent Tremenheere Sculpture Garden. This 22-acre garden is filled with stunning sculptures and cascading architectural plants, set against the breathtaking backdrop of Mounts Bay and St. Michael's Mount.

You can also:

  • Browse the art gallery and artisan shop
  • Get your "succulent fix" at our nursery

Nursery Opening Times

Please note, opening times may vary due to staff availability or unforeseen circumstances. If you're planning a special or long journey, we recommend contacting us in advance to confirm our hours—especially during the winter months.

10:30 am - 4:30 pm open every day. Also open on bank holidays.

Spring 2026 opening early March.

Autumn-Winter:
November: 10:30 am - 4:00 pm Friday - Sunday
December: 11:00 am - 4:00 pm Wednesday - Sunday
Closed January & February.

We may occasionally close due to unforeseen circumstances or bad weather forecast.
