Crassula pubescens ssp. radicans quick care tips

Watering

Crassula pubescens ssp. radicans is a drought-tolerant succulent variety, so watering around once per week in the peak growing season is advised. Ensure the soil dries between waterings following the 3 Ds: drench, drain and dry. It is also advised to completely stop watering when conditions are frosty, keeping the plant dry for several months at a time over winter.

Feeding

Crassula pubescens ssp. radicans likes to be fed to bring out its best forms and colours. We recommend feeding with a liquid seaweed feed every 2 weeks in the main growing season from April to September. A feed we recommend is the one from our friends at LittleGreenSeaweed.

Ideal soil

Crassula pubescens ssp. radicans needs free draining soil to thrive. We recommend a mixture of 1/3 John Innes no.2, 1/3 perlite and 1/3 coconut coir. The soil mix we offer here is similar in composition to this.

Also known as Red Carpet. A subspecies from South Africa.

A low growing clump forming Crassula that works perfectly as a carpet. Over time, the plant will offset and drop to fill a space. It blooms every spring with beautiful white flowers. The flowers come from many heads.
