These are extremely tolerant plants, making perfect houseplants.
Gasteria are members of the Asphodelaceae family which are native to South Africa. It’s not known how many species of Gasteria there are as there are always new ones to be found. Gasterias are commonly known as ox-tongue or cow-tongue plants as they produce these tongue shaped leaves, some of which have a rough texture to them.
They produce a tall stem with bright pink/red and yellow flowers during the summer months.
