Echeveria 'Shark Skin' quick care tips

Watering

Echeveria 'Shark Skin' is a drought-tolerant succulent variety, so watering around once per week in the peak growing season is advised. Ensure the soil dries between waterings. It is also advised to completely stop watering when conditions are frosty, keeping the plant dry for several months at a time.

Feeding

Echeveria 'Shark Skin' likes to be fed to bring out its best forms and colours. We recommend feeding with a liquid seaweed feed every 2 weeks in the main growing season from April to September.

Ideal soil

Echeveria 'Shark Skin' needs free draining soil to thrive. We recommend a mixture of 1/3 John Innes no.2, 1/3 perlite and 1/3 coconut coir. The soil mix we offer here is similar in composition to this. Adding extra grit may be useful to add even more drainage for these desert-dwellers.

Echeveria 'Shark Skin'

Released in Autumn 2017 by Surreal Succulents.

This hybrid really lives up to its name with its shark-like mottled leaf pattern. It features shades of dark and light green, under strong light, the leaves will turn orange. The leaf margins and tips are red and get deeper as it ages. It flowers in spring.

It's a strong compact plant which will grow very nicely on a windowsill.

Shark Skin

Well the name says it. Very interesting surface to this plant. I have a few Agaves and this little fellow fits in nicely with them, and it even has a pup already.
