Echeveria 'Pinky' quick care tips

Watering

Echeveria 'Pinky' is a drought-tolerant succulent variety, so watering around once per week in the peak growing season is advised. Ensure the soil dries between waterings. It is also advised to completely stop watering when conditions are frosty, keeping the plant dry for several months at a time.

Feeding

Echeveria 'Pinky' likes to be fed to bring out its best forms and colours. We recommend feeding with a liquid seaweed feed every 2 weeks in the main growing season from April to September.

Ideal soil

Echeveria 'Pinky' needs free draining soil to thrive. We recommend a mixture of 1/3 John Innes no.2, 1/3 perlite and 1/3 coconut coir. The soil mix we offer here is similar in composition to this. Adding extra grit may be useful to add even more drainage for these desert-dwellers.

Echeveria 'Pinky'

Echeveria ‘Pinky’ is a hybrid of Echeveria shaviana x Echeveria cante, bred by Myron Kimnach in 1961.

This is the perfect example of a hybrid due to its shaviana colouring and frilly leaf shape then forges it with the large cante leaves. It inherits its gorgeous ice-white colouring from Echeveria cante and mixes the blue, purple and pink together to create this whirlpool of bright colours, a uniquely beautiful specimen. This particular hybrid blooms in spring, showcasing the same enormous flowers as Echeveria cante, creating an array of pink-orange star-shaped heads.

Grows quite quickly if given the space, looks perfect among frilly succulents.
