Echeveria cante quick care tips
Watering
Watering
Echeveria cante is a drought-tolerant succulent variety, so watering around once per week in the peak growing season is advised. Ensure the soil dries between waterings. It is also advised to completely stop watering when conditions are frosty, keeping the plant dry for several months at a time.
Feeding
Feeding
Echeveria cante likes to be fed to bring out its best forms and colours. We recommend feeding with a liquid seaweed feed every 2 weeks in the main growing season from April to September. A feed we recommend is the one from our friends at LittleGreenSeaweed.
Ideal soil
Ideal soil
Echeveria cante needs free draining soil to thrive. We recommend a mixture of 1/3 John Innes no.2, 1/3 perlite and 1/3 coconut coir. The soil mix we offer here is similar in composition to this. Adding extra grit may be useful to add even more drainage for these desert-dwellers.

Echeveria cante
Echeveria cante is truly one of the most beautiful species on the planet, it’s covered in a natural coating of white dust-like powder know as farina. This protects the succulent in its natural habitat against the strong summer sun.
It makes an absolutely ideal succulent houseplant, potted up on a sunny windowsill and left to dry out during the winter, the Echeveria cante will turn pinkish in colour resembling the flower of a Lotus Water Lily.
