Echeveria agavoides x pulidonis quick care tips

Watering

Echeveria agavoides x pulidonis is a drought-tolerant succulent variety, so watering around once per week in the peak growing season is advised. Ensure the soil dries between waterings. It is also advised to completely stop watering when conditions are frosty, keeping the plant dry for several months at a time.

Feeding

Echeveria agavoides x pulidonis likes to be fed to bring out its best forms and colours. We recommend feeding with a liquid seaweed feed every 2 weeks in the main growing season from April to September.

Ideal soil

Echeveria agavoides x pulidonis needs free draining soil to thrive. We recommend a mixture of 1/3 John Innes no.2, 1/3 perlite and 1/3 coconut coir. The soil mix we offer here is similar in composition to this. Adding extra grit may be useful to add even more drainage for these desert-dwellers.

Echeveria agavoides x pulidonis

A hybrid of Echeveria agavoides x Echeveria pulidonis

A genius hybrid of two dominant species. It has inherited the best features of the parent plants. This combines the red leaf margins plus beautiful green-blue shading of the main leaf of the pulidonis and the fierce and tough look of the agavoides. Flowers in spring.

Worthy of a standalone feature plant.

  • Choose a pot with a drainage hole if you can’t limit the watering (outdoors). A pot with no drainage hole can be used as long as you water moderately. A pot with a hole tends to be more forgiving. Also, as it is slightly breathable, a terracotta pot is usually preferred over a plastic pot, but the succulents dont seem to mind too much.
