Echeveria agavoides 'Red Edge' quick care tips

Watering

Echeveria agavoides 'Red Edge' is a drought-tolerant succulent variety, so watering around once per week in the peak growing season is advised. Ensure the soil dries between waterings. It is also advised to completely stop watering when conditions are frosty, keeping the plant dry for several months at a time.

Feeding

Echeveria agavoides 'Red Edge' likes to be fed to bring out its best forms and colours. We recommend feeding with a liquid seaweed feed every 2 weeks in the main growing season from April to September. A feed we recommend is the one from our friends at LittleGreenSeaweed.

Ideal soil

Echeveria agavoides 'Red Edge' needs free draining soil to thrive. We recommend a mixture of 1/3 John Innes no.2, 1/3 perlite and 1/3 coconut coir. The soil mix we offer here is similar in composition to this. Adding extra grit may be useful to add even more drainage for these desert-dwellers.

Echeveria agavoides 'Red Edge'

A cultivar of Echeveria agavoides, also known as Lipstick Echeveria.

Echeveria agavoides 'Red Edge' is a lovely slim leaved beauty. It is a slow-growing succulent but can reach large sizes. The leaves are almost hand-painted in red to show off a fierce-looking specimen. As it ages, the leaves only become covered more in the red colouring to make it almost look as though it has been dipped.

A sturdy plant, it would look great in a succulent bowl or bed to add texture. Would also make a great feature plant.
