Dudleya greenei quick care tips

Watering

Dudleya greenei is a drought-tolerant succulent variety, so watering around once per week in the peak growing season is advised. Ensure the soil dries between waterings following the 3 Ds: drench, drain and dry. It is also advised to completely stop watering when conditions are frosty, keeping the plant dry for several months at a time over winter.

Feeding

Dudleya greenei likes to be fed to bring out its best forms and colours. We recommend feeding with a liquid seaweed feed every 2 weeks in the main growing season from April to September. A feed we recommend is the one from our friends at LittleGreenSeaweed.

Ideal soil

Dudleya greenei needs free draining soil to thrive. We recommend a mixture of 1/3 John Innes no.2, 1/3 perlite and 1/3 coconut coir. The soil mix we offer here is similar in composition to this.

Dudleya greenei

Dudleya greenei is a beautiful and highly prized species from California.

It's covered in this white powder-like bloom that protects it from the strong Californian sun. They are extremely drought tolerant and are very happy to have little or no water during the summer months. Commonly known as the powdery live-forever succulent. Hardy down to -6°C.

Great outdoors in the winter as a mature specimen.

condition of plant.

Most of the plants in my order were received in excellent condition. I am not sure if this was received in good condition, however after planting in suitable compost, some of the lowest leaves are not looking their best. It is growing beside the rest of my order in a cold conservatory and whist all the rest are looking great, I am a little concerned as to whether this will make it through the winter. Hopefully it will pick up come spring.

Hello Mary,
Thank you for the review. Could you send an email with an image of the plant? We would love to give you some tips to help your plant.
Kind regards,
Jack.
