Curio rowleyanus (String of Pearls) is a drought-tolerant succulent variety, so watering around once per week in the peak growing season is advised. Ensure the soil dries between waterings following the 3 Ds: drench, drain and dry. It is also advised to completely stop watering when conditions are frosty, keeping the plant dry for several months at a time over winter.

Curio rowleyanus (String of Pearls) likes to be fed to bring out its best forms and colours. We recommend feeding with a liquid seaweed feed every 2 weeks in the main growing season from April to September.

Ideal soil
Curio rowleyanus (String of Pearls) needs free draining soil to thrive. We recommend a mixture of 1/3 John Innes no.2, 1/3 perlite and 1/3 coconut coir. The soil mix we offer here is similar in composition to this.

Curio rowleyanus (String of Pearls)
Native to South Africa and Namibia. Also known as String of Peas.
A lovely trailing succulent with strings of succulent orbs of a smaller oval shape. Similar to Curio herreianus but of a smaller size and different markings. Blooms in spring-autumn with white flowers.
An excellent trailing succulent, can scale any pot.
