Crassula deceptor quick care tips

Watering

Crassula deceptor is a drought-tolerant succulent variety, so watering around once per week in the peak growing season is advised. Ensure the soil dries between waterings following the 3 Ds: drench, drain and dry. It is also advised to completely stop watering when conditions are frosty, keeping the plant dry for several months at a time over winter.

Feeding

Crassula deceptor likes to be fed to bring out its best forms and colours. We recommend feeding with a liquid seaweed feed every 2 weeks in the main growing season from April to September. A feed we recommend is the one from our friends at LittleGreenSeaweed.

Ideal soil

Crassula deceptor needs free draining soil to thrive. We recommend a mixture of 1/3 John Innes no.2, 1/3 perlite and 1/3 coconut coir. The soil mix we offer here is similar in composition to this.

Crassula deceptor

Crassula deceptor is a small species native to South Africa and Namibia.

It consists of silvery-white fleshy leaves that form a compact column that stays low and compact. It is a clumping and spreading succulent that offsets readily. In time, the leaves will become pointy and prove to be a real sculptural highlight in any location. It shoots flower stems from the central rosette in summer.

Perfect for adding texture and contrasting colour to any succulent display.
