Aeonium volkerii quick care tips
Watering
Watering
The Aeonium volkerii would like watering between once and twice per week in the peak growing season. It is advised to reduce watering when plants are dormant due to a heatwave and to significantly reduce/ stop watering when conditions are frosty.
Feeding
Feeding
Aeonium volkerii likes to be fed to bring out its best forms and colours. We recommend feeding with a liquid seaweed feed every 2 weeks in the main growing season from April to September. A feed we recommend is the one from our friends at LittleGreenSeaweed.
Ideal soil
Ideal soil
Aeonium volkerii needs free draining soil to thrive. We recommend a mixture of 1/3 John Innes no.2, 1/3 perlite and 1/3 coconut coir. The soil mix we offer here is similar in composition to this.
Aeonium volkerii
Aeonium volkerii forms a short compact succulent that offsets readily, with leaves that develop a red tinge in strong light. Related to the larger Aeonium haworthii and only discovered in 1996 in an isolated part of Tenerife.
Grows and looks best in a sunny part of your garden/ patio with free draining soil. Will also grow nicely planted under taller plants.
