Aeonium percarneum quick care tips

Watering

The Aeonium percarneum would like watering between once and twice per week in the peak growing season. It is advised to reduce watering when plants are dormant due to a heatwave and to significantly reduce/ stop watering when conditions are frosty.

Feeding

Aeonium percarneum likes to be fed to bring out its best forms and colours. We recommend feeding with a liquid seaweed feed every 2 weeks in the main growing season from April to September. A feed we recommend is the one from our friends at LittleGreenSeaweed.

Ideal soil

Aeonium percarneum needs free draining soil to thrive. We recommend a mixture of 1/3 John Innes no.2, 1/3 perlite and 1/3 coconut coir. The soil mix we offer here is similar in composition to this.

Aeonium percarneum

Aeonium percarneum is one of the rare Aeonium species that has flowers with a pink/red tinge.

It is a low, branching species that can reach 1 metre in height but is usually smaller. The foliage takes on an attractive pink/red tint in high light levels.

It is a native of Gran Canaria where it has a wide distribution, making it adaptable in garden cultivation. It can also be grown successfully in a pot.
