Watering
The Aeonium diplocycla v. gigantea would like watering between once and twice per week in the peak growing season. It is advised to reduce watering when plants are dormant due to a heatwave and to significantly reduce/ stop watering when conditions are frosty.
Feeding
Feeding
Aeonium diplocycla v. gigantea likes to be fed to bring out its best forms and colours. We recommend feeding with a liquid seaweed feed every 2 weeks in the main growing season from April to September. A feed we recommend is the one from our friends at LittleGreenSeaweed.
Ideal soil
Ideal soil
Aeonium diplocycla v. gigantea needs free draining soil to thrive. We recommend a mixture of 1/3 John Innes no.2, 1/3 perlite and 1/3 coconut coir. The soil mix we offer here is similar in composition to this.

Aeonium diplocycla var. gigantea is not often found in cultivation as it was only discovered in La Gomera Canaries in 2001 by B. Malkmus. As you can see by the picture it has a very compact, stemless growing form which can get to a very big size. The central rosettes tend to close over when the weather warms up.
