Aeonium canariense var. subplanum quick care tips

Watering

The Aeonium canariense var. subplanum would like watering between once and twice per week in the peak growing season. It is advised to reduce watering when plants are dormant due to a heatwave and to significantly reduce/ stop watering when conditions are frosty.

Feeding

Aeonium canariense var. subplanum likes to be fed to bring out its best forms and colours. We recommend feeding with a liquid seaweed feed every 2 weeks in the main growing season from April to September.

Ideal soil

Aeonium canariense var. subplanum needs free draining soil to thrive. We recommend a mixture of 1/3 John Innes no.2, 1/3 perlite and 1/3 coconut coir. The soil mix we offer here is similar in composition to this.

Aeonium canariense var. subplanum

Subplanum is a Aeonium which offshoots to form a small shrub around 30-50cm tall. It has thin and small light green leaves and forms large yellow flower offshoots in spring. The leaves may have a pink tinge on the outer edge when grown in cold or dry conditions.
