Aeonium canariense var. palmense quick care tips

Watering

The Aeonium canariense var. palmense would like watering between once and twice per week in the peak growing season. It is advised to reduce watering when plants are dormant due to a heatwave and to significantly reduce/ stop watering when conditions are frosty.

Feeding

Aeonium canariense var. palmense likes to be fed to bring out its best forms and colours. We recommend feeding with a liquid seaweed feed every 2 weeks in the main growing season from April to September. A feed we recommend is the one from our friends at LittleGreenSeaweed.

Ideal soil

Aeonium canariense var. palmense needs free draining soil to thrive. We recommend a mixture of 1/3 John Innes no.2, 1/3 perlite and 1/3 coconut coir. The soil mix we offer here is similar in composition to this.

Aeonium canariense var. palmense is rare in cultivation. It is endemic to La Palma and grows on shady, moist slopes meaning that it is suitable for wetter, shady spots in the garden, although it also performs well in full sun. Rosettes are bowl-shaped up to 40cm diameter. Seed grown.
