Watering

The Aeonium 'Black King Kong' would like watering between once and twice per week in the peak growing season. It is advised to reduce watering when plants are dormant due to a heatwave and to significantly reduce/ stop watering when conditions are frosty.

Feeding

Aeonium 'Black King Kong' likes to be fed to bring out its best forms and colours. We recommend feeding with a liquid seaweed feed every 2 weeks in the main growing season from April to September. A feed we recommend is the one from our friends at LittleGreenSeaweed.

Ideal soil

Aeonium 'Black King Kong' needs free draining soil to thrive. We recommend a mixture of 1/3 John Innes no.2, 1/3 perlite and 1/3 coconut coir. The soil mix we offer here is similar in composition to this.

Aeonium 'Black King Kong'

Aeonium 'Black King Kong' is an extraordinary variegated Aeonium with vibrant colours and pronounced variegation at the centre. In bright light, it develops a deep red hue, reflecting its name. The dark tips of the leaves lend this Aeonium a distinctive appearance.

It readily produces offsets and branches, forming an attractive pyramid-shaped specimen plant. The true beauty of this Aeonium is realized when it reaches maturity, creating a stunning standalone display.

In our experience, 'Black King Kong' has exhibited strong growth with consistent variegation. To maintain vibrant colours during the warm summer months, it is recommended to provide morning or evening sun exposure or keep it in shaded, cooler areas.
