Sedum cuspidatum quick care tips

Watering

Sedum cuspidatum is a drought-tolerant succulent variety, so watering around once per week in the peak growing season is advised. Ensure the soil dries between waterings following the 3 Ds: drench, drain and dry. It is also advised to completely stop watering when conditions are frosty, keeping the plant dry for several months at a time over winter.

Feeding

Sedum cuspidatum likes to be fed to bring out its best forms and colours. We recommend feeding with a liquid seaweed feed every 2 weeks in the main growing season from April to September. A feed we recommend is the one from our friends at LittleGreenSeaweed.

Ideal soil

Sedum cuspidatum needs free draining soil to thrive. We recommend a mixture of 1/3 John Innes no.2, 1/3 perlite and 1/3 coconut coir. The soil mix we offer here is similar in composition to this.

Sedum cuspidatum

Native to Mexico, this unusual Sedum is hardy down to -6°C, making it perfect for adding colour to your garden all year round.

This species features yellow and green pointed leaves but will blush red during high light levels and when stressed.

The rosette is very neat and offsets freely to fill any empty garden space you may want covering. Would also look great in a hanging pot.
