Echeveria setosa v. minor quick care tips

Watering

Echeveria setosa v. minor is a drought-tolerant succulent variety, so watering around once per week in the peak growing season is advised. Ensure the soil dries between waterings. It is also advised to completely stop watering when conditions are frosty, keeping the plant dry for several months at a time.

Feeding

Echeveria setosa v. minor likes to be fed to bring out its best forms and colours. We recommend feeding with a liquid seaweed feed every 2 weeks in the main growing season from April to September. A feed we recommend is the one from our friends at LittleGreenSeaweed.

Ideal soil

Echeveria setosa v. minor needs free draining soil to thrive. We recommend a mixture of 1/3 John Innes no.2, 1/3 perlite and 1/3 coconut coir. The soil mix we offer here is similar in composition to this. Adding extra grit may be useful to add even more drainage for these desert-dwellers.

Echeveria setosa v. minor

A smaller variation of Echeveria setosa from Oaxaca, Mexico.

Echeveria setosa var. minor is a stunning blue/purple stemless succulent with hairy leaves. It will clump to form a lovely specimen. It blooms in late spring with multiple pink hairy spikes carrying yellow-red gradient flowers.

Great texture to add to a succulent bowl. The flowers will add a flame effect.
