Echeveria 'Humming Bird' quick care tips

Watering

Echeveria 'Humming Bird' is a drought-tolerant succulent variety, so watering around once per week in the peak growing season is advised. Ensure the soil dries between waterings. It is also advised to completely stop watering when conditions are frosty, keeping the plant dry for several months at a time.

Feeding

Echeveria 'Humming Bird' likes to be fed to bring out its best forms and colours. We recommend feeding with a liquid seaweed feed every 2 weeks in the main growing season from April to September.

Ideal soil

Echeveria 'Humming Bird' needs free draining soil to thrive. We recommend a mixture of 1/3 John Innes no.2, 1/3 perlite and 1/3 coconut coir. The soil mix we offer here is similar in composition to this. Adding extra grit may be useful to add even more drainage for these desert-dwellers.

Echeveria 'Humming Bird'

A Surreal Succulents hybrid. Named by one of our customers in a competition.

First released in 2015, this beautiful Echeveria hybrid is a perfect adaptation of its parents, Echeveria 'Mexican Giant' and Echeveria opalina. A fast grower with striking blue and pink colouring.

It will mature to be a more pink going through to red specimen once soil nutrients deplete. Perfect to dish into any collection.
