Curio repens quick care tips

Watering

Curio repens is a drought-tolerant succulent variety, so watering around once per week in the peak growing season is advised. Ensure the soil dries between waterings following the 3 Ds: drench, drain and dry. It is also advised to completely stop watering when conditions are frosty, keeping the plant dry for several months at a time over winter.

Feeding

Curio repens likes to be fed to bring out its best forms and colours. We recommend feeding with a liquid seaweed feed every 2 weeks in the main growing season from April to September. A feed we recommend is the one from our friends at LittleGreenSeaweed.

Ideal soil

Curio repens needs free draining soil to thrive. We recommend a mixture of 1/3 John Innes no.2, 1/3 perlite and 1/3 coconut coir. The soil mix we offer here is similar in composition to this.

Curio repens

Curio repens, also known as Blue Chalksticks or Dead Man's Fingers, is a species from the Western Cape province of South Africa.

It is an attractive small succulent that features powdery blue-green fleshy leaves and branches from the base, forming a pot plant to about 25-30cm or planted in the ground. It will root from the stems and spread.

Perfect for an indoor succulent planter. Adds great colour and height to your collection.
