Crassula muscosa quick care tips

Watering

Crassula muscosa is a drought-tolerant succulent variety, so watering around once per week in the peak growing season is advised. Ensure the soil dries between waterings following the 3 Ds: drench, drain and dry. It is also advised to completely stop watering when conditions are frosty, keeping the plant dry for several months at a time over winter.

Feeding

Crassula muscosa likes to be fed to bring out its best forms and colours. We recommend feeding with a liquid seaweed feed every 2 weeks in the main growing season from April to September.

Ideal soil

Crassula muscosa needs free draining soil to thrive. We recommend a mixture of 1/3 John Innes no.2, 1/3 perlite and 1/3 coconut coir. The soil mix we offer here is similar in composition to this.

Crassula muscosa

Also known as Crassula lycopodioides. A species from South Africa.

Structural and unusual in appearance. Crassula muscosa is a steady growing succulent that towers to great heights. As it grows, it offsets, allowing the babies to drop and form columns nearby. If cut, the wound will sprout multiple branches, allowing you to prune the shape of your plant.

Used best to add height to a succulent collection.
