Cotyledon ladismithiensis variegata quick care tips

Watering

Cotyledon ladismithiensis variegata is a drought-tolerant succulent variety, so watering around once per week in the peak growing season is advised. Ensure the soil dries between waterings following the 3 Ds: drench, drain and dry. It is also advised to completely stop watering when conditions are frosty, keeping the plant dry for several months at a time over winter.

Feeding

Cotyledon ladismithiensis variegata likes to be fed to bring out its best forms and colours. We recommend feeding with a liquid seaweed feed every 2 weeks in the main growing season from April to September. A feed we recommend is the one from our friends at LittleGreenSeaweed.

Ideal soil

Cotyledon ladismithiensis variegata needs free draining soil to thrive. We recommend a mixture of 1/3 John Innes no.2, 1/3 perlite and 1/3 coconut coir. The soil mix we offer here is similar in composition to this.

Cotyledon ladismithiensis variegata

Cotyledon ladismithiensis variegata (syn. Cotyledon tomentosa subs. ladismithiensis f. variegata), also known as the variegated Bear Paws succulent is a clumping, tall-growing species from Mexico.

This plant features pink bell-shaped flowers in late summer. The leaves are a perfect example of the name, they are shaped like Bear's Paws of a size around 2 inches and are thick and fleshy.

Perfect in a pot on your windowsill or outside in a hanging basket.

Note: This plant seems to not travel as well as others. We take extra care when wrapping and packing it but some leaves still may drop in transit.
