Anacampseros rufescens quick care tips

Watering

Anacampseros rufescens is a drought-tolerant succulent variety, so watering around once per week in the peak growing season is advised. Ensure the soil dries between waterings following the 3 Ds: drench, drain and dry. It is also advised to completely stop watering when conditions are frosty, keeping the plant dry for several months at a time over winter.

Feeding

Anacampseros rufescens likes to be fed to bring out its best forms and colours. We recommend feeding with a liquid seaweed feed every 2 weeks in the main growing season from April to September. A feed we recommend is the one from our friends at LittleGreenSeaweed.

Ideal soil

Anacampseros rufescens needs free draining soil to thrive. We recommend a mixture of 1/3 John Innes no.2, 1/3 perlite and 1/3 coconut coir. The soil mix we offer here is similar in composition to this.

Anacampseros rufescens

Native to South Africa.

Anacampseros rufescens is a low growing clump-forming succulent that goes from a bright green to this chocolatey brown colouring in strong light, during the spring it produces these bright pink flowers that are eye-catching and attractive.

It's an easy succulent to grow and makes a delightful companion plant in a succulent display. Anacampseros rufescens can withstand temperatures below freezing but we always recommend protecting your succulents in extreme weather conditions.
