Agave titanota 'Genryu Kifukurin' quick care tips

Watering

Agave titanota 'Genryu Kifukurin' is a drought-tolerant succulent variety, so watering around once per week in the peak growing season is advised. Ensure the soil dries between waterings following the 3 Ds: drench, drain and dry. It is also advised to completely stop watering when conditions are frosty, keeping the plant dry for several months at a time over winter.

Feeding

Agave titanota 'Genryu Kifukurin' likes to be fed to bring out its best forms and colours. We recommend feeding with a liquid seaweed feed every 2 weeks in the main growing season from April to September. A feed we recommend is the one from our friends at LittleGreenSeaweed.

Ideal soil

Agave titanota 'Genryu Kifukurin' needs free draining soil to thrive. We recommend a mixture of 1/3 John Innes no.2, 1/3 perlite and 1/3 coconut coir. The soil mix we offer here is similar in composition to this.

Agave titanota 'Genryu Kifukurin'

Agave titanota ‘Genryu Kifukurin’, a Japanese name meaning yellow ring/edge. These Agaves are rarely offered.

The Agave has strong rigid leaves with powerful leaf tips. The spines along the leaf margins curve upwards creating a claw-like effect.

These Agaves produce babies that can be removed and grown on their own to create new specimens.
