Aeonium 'Floresens' quick care tips

The Aeonium 'Floresens' would like watering between once and twice per week in the peak growing season. It is advised to reduce watering when plants are dormant due to a heatwave and to significantly reduce/ stop watering when conditions are frosty.

Aeonium 'Floresens' likes to be fed to bring out its best forms and colours. We recommend feeding with a liquid seaweed feed every 2 weeks in the main growing season from April to September.

Aeonium 'Floresens' needs free draining soil to thrive. We recommend a mixture of 1/3 John Innes no.2, 1/3 perlite and 1/3 coconut coir. The soil mix we offer here is similar in composition to this.

Aeonium 'Floresens'

Aeonium ‘Floresens’ is a highly prized variegated form of Aeonium. We find that the plant will offset vigorously as it grows to create a beautiful form with little or no training. The variegation tends to be on the outer edges of the leaves with this striking lime-green stripe running through the middle of each leaf. Like all variegated Aeoniums, growing them in a less intense light situation away from the midday sun is preferred; it will bring out more of the variegation during the summer months. Try planting with a companion plant such as Aeonium ‘Cyclops’ or Yucca rostrata as these will act as sun umbrellas.

Awarded Plant of the Month for July 2024.

My autism looks to be happily settling in. Still in my conservatory with his friends for now, but will go out to play in my newly made gravel garden when we are more certain of the weather. We live in Suffolk.
