Aeonium aizoon quick care tips
Watering
Watering
The Aeonium aizoon would like watering between once and twice per week in the peak growing season. It is advised to reduce watering when plants are dormant due to a heatwave and to significantly reduce/ stop watering when conditions are frosty.
Feeding
Feeding
Aeonium aizoon likes to be fed to bring out its best forms and colours. We recommend feeding with a liquid seaweed feed every 2 weeks in the main growing season from April to September. A feed we recommend is the one from our friends at LittleGreenSeaweed.
Ideal soil
Ideal soil
Aeonium aizoon needs free draining soil to thrive. We recommend a mixture of 1/3 John Innes no.2, 1/3 perlite and 1/3 coconut coir. The soil mix we offer here is similar in composition to this.
Aeonium aizoon
Aeonium aizoon is extremley rare not only in its natural habitat but also in cultivation. You can see by the picture it has a very compact stemless growing form which will offset freely into a small clump. These Aeoniums can be found on the island of Tenerife growing at 1400m.
