Sempervivum 'Golden Dial' quick care tips
Watering
Watering
Sempervivum 'Golden Dial' is a drought-tolerant succulent variety, so watering around once per week in the peak growing season is advised. Ensure the soil dries between waterings following the 3 Ds: drench, drain and dry. It is also advised to completely stop watering when conditions are frosty, keeping the plant dry for several months at a time over winter.
Feeding
Feeding
Sempervivum 'Golden Dial' likes to be fed to bring out its best forms and colours. We recommend feeding with a liquid seaweed feed every 2 weeks in the main growing season from April to September.
Ideal soil
Ideal soil
Sempervivum 'Golden Dial' needs free draining soil to thrive. We recommend a mixture of 1/3 John Innes no.2, 1/3 perlite and 1/3 coconut coir. The soil mix we offer here is similar in composition to this.

Sempervivum 'Golden Dial'
Sempervivums come in a fantastic array of colours, forms and textures. They make outstanding garden plants either planted straight out into a rockery or simply planted in pots outside all year round. To achieve the colours these beautiful alpine succulents possess they must receive a minimum of 6 hours full sun a day (more sun more intense colour) during the Spring and Summer.
They are incredibly hardy, surviving temperatures down to -15°C and even lower in some cases. We find that during the spring they are very hungry plants, we recommend to feed them once every two weeks with a liquid seaweed dilution or simply re-pot with a slow release fertiliser feed mixed into a gritty compost mix, this will encourage the Sempervivums to have many new offsets and to put on a magnificent flowering display ideal for nectar loving insects.
