Sedum lucidum 'Obesum' quick care tips

Sedum lucidum 'Obesum' is a drought-tolerant succulent variety, so watering around once per week in the peak growing season is advised. Ensure the soil dries between waterings following the 3 Ds: drench, drain and dry. It is also advised to completely stop watering when conditions are frosty, keeping the plant dry for several months at a time over winter.

Sedum lucidum 'Obesum' likes to be fed to bring out its best forms and colours. We recommend feeding with a liquid seaweed feed every 2 weeks in the main growing season from April to September.

Sedum lucidum 'Obesum' needs free draining soil to thrive. We recommend a mixture of 1/3 John Innes no.2, 1/3 perlite and 1/3 coconut coir. The soil mix we offer here is similar in composition to this.

A cultivar of Sedum lucidum, first distributed by the Huntington Botanical Gardens.

An attractive Sedum with glossy, thick leaves of deep-green colouring. In the sun, the leaf margins and tips will blush a burgundy colouring. It blooms in late autumn to early spring with white and yellow star-shaped flowers.

A great collectors succulent for outdoors or indoors.
