The marvelous Graptopetalum 'Caribbean Sky' is an unusual and attractive version of Graptopetalum superbum. The pastel blue colours with the pink leaf tips give the sense of a distant holiday.

This Surreal Succulents cultivar originated as a seedling from a seed batch of Graptopetalum superbum. The unique colouration, growth rate and form is a very beautiful feature of this variety. This easy to grow succulent can be grown indoors on a widowsill or outdoors during the summer months. In strong light this variety will enhance its pink colours to stand out amongst other plants.

Plant Graptopetalum 'Caribbean Sky' in fresh, free-draining compost, spreading the roots naturally rather than forcing them in. Keep every healthy leaf and the growing point above the surface, then tap the pot on the bench to settle the mixture without pressing it down hard.

Wait five to seven days before watering so small root injuries from lifting and transport can dry. Watering

Light and position

Provide Graptopetalum 'Caribbean Sky' with Full Sun - 5+ Hours of Sun. Suitable positions can include Sunny Windowsill, Patio, Conservatory, and Hanging Basket. Most succulents need strong natural light to keep compact growth and their best Green, Pink, and Orange colouring; too little light causes stretched, pale, leggy growth.

Rotate a pot-grown plant regularly so it develops evenly, and introduce it to stronger sunshine gradually after winter, delivery or a spell indoors, as unadjusted foliage can scorch. Provide temporary shade during intense heatwaves.

Feeding

Fresh compost should contain enough nutrients to support Graptopetalum 'Caribbean Sky' for approximately three to six months. Once these are used, apply a balanced liquid feed at half the recommended strength every two to four weeks while the plant is in active growth.

Ventilate greenhouses and conservatories in hot weather, as heat trapped behind glass can scorch leaves. Provide temporary afternoon shade during exceptional heatwaves.
