Echeveria subsessilis quick care tips

Watering

Echeveria subsessilis is a drought-tolerant succulent variety, so watering around once per week in the peak growing season is advised. Ensure the soil dries between waterings. It is also advised to completely stop watering when conditions are frosty, keeping the plant dry for several months at a time.

Feeding

Echeveria subsessilis likes to be fed to bring out its best forms and colours. We recommend feeding with a liquid seaweed feed every 2 weeks in the main growing season from April to September.

Ideal soil

Echeveria subsessilis needs free draining soil to thrive. We recommend a mixture of 1/3 John Innes no.2, 1/3 perlite and 1/3 coconut coir. The soil mix we offer here is similar in composition to this. Adding extra grit may be useful to add even more drainage for these desert-dwellers.

Echeveria subsessilis, also known as Echeveria 'Morning Beauty', is a species from Mexico.

This plant consists of a very powdery leaf formation to create the most spectacular leaf formation. It has a blue leaf but will show as white due to the excess farina. It blooms in late spring/early summer with a contrasting red flower.

A perfect house plant. Would look great on a windowsill with some multicoloured plants.
