Echeveria subcorymbosa (Lau 030) quick care tips

Watering

Echeveria subcorymbosa (Lau 030) is a drought-tolerant succulent variety, so watering around once per week in the peak growing season is advised. Ensure the soil dries between waterings. It is also advised to completely stop watering when conditions are frosty, keeping the plant dry for several months at a time.

Feeding

Echeveria subcorymbosa (Lau 030) likes to be fed to bring out its best forms and colours. We recommend feeding with a liquid seaweed feed every 2 weeks in the main growing season from April to September.

Ideal soil

Echeveria subcorymbosa (Lau 030) needs free draining soil to thrive. We recommend a mixture of 1/3 John Innes no.2, 1/3 perlite and 1/3 coconut coir. The soil mix we offer here is similar in composition to this. Adding extra grit may be useful to add even more drainage for these desert-dwellers.

Echeveria subcorymbosa (Lau 030)

Echeveria subcorymbosa Lau 30 originates from Mexico. It was collected by Alfred Lau, a German-Mexican botanist known for his extensive fieldwork on succulents. The ‘Lau 030’ designation refers to a specific collection number assigned by Lau during his expeditions.

This species typically grows in rocky environments at higher elevations, where it experiences seasonal droughts and cooler temperatures.

Its colour ranges from light purple through to pale blue depending on the time of year, featuring red tips and leaf margins. Offsets readily from the base.

A miniature form yet will clump to fill any pot/space.
