Echeveria pertela quick care tips

Watering

Echeveria pertela is a drought-tolerant succulent variety, so watering around once per week in the peak growing season is advised. Ensure the soil dries between waterings. It is also advised to completely stop watering when conditions are frosty, keeping the plant dry for several months at a time.

Feeding

Echeveria pertela likes to be fed to bring out its best forms and colours. We recommend feeding with a liquid seaweed feed every 2 weeks in the main growing season from April to September. A feed we recommend is the one from our friends at LittleGreenSeaweed.

Ideal soil

Echeveria pertela needs free draining soil to thrive. We recommend a mixture of 1/3 John Innes no.2, 1/3 perlite and 1/3 coconut coir. The soil mix we offer here is similar in composition to this. Adding extra grit may be useful to add even more drainage for these desert-dwellers.

Echeveria pertela

A species native to unknown origin.

Echeveria pertela forms rosettes of an attractive green with red tinges on its margins. This varieties' rosettes grow to around 10cm across before offsetting to form a clump about 20-30cm across. Flowers in spring with orange bell-shaped flowers.

A great addition to a terrarium or succulent bowl. It makes for a great house plant if given the light.
