Echeveria goldmanii quick care tips

Watering

Echeveria goldmanii is a drought-tolerant succulent variety, so watering around once per week in the peak growing season is advised. Ensure the soil dries between waterings. It is also advised to completely stop watering when conditions are frosty, keeping the plant dry for several months at a time.

Feeding

Echeveria goldmanii likes to be fed to bring out its best forms and colours. We recommend feeding with a liquid seaweed feed every 2 weeks in the main growing season from April to September. A feed we recommend is the one from our friends at LittleGreenSeaweed.

Ideal soil

Echeveria goldmanii needs free draining soil to thrive. We recommend a mixture of 1/3 John Innes no.2, 1/3 perlite and 1/3 coconut coir. The soil mix we offer here is similar in composition to this. Adding extra grit may be useful to add even more drainage for these desert-dwellers.

Echeveria goldmanii

This species, discovered in Mexico, is a small-headed offsetter. It is one of a few bushier Echeverias, making it a must for any collection.

Echeveria goldmanii features a main rosette that grows tall and similar to Crassula ovata, offsetting and branching, which is very unusual. The leaves are coloured green which can go gold under strong light levels and a distinctive red stripe around the leaf margins. During mid too late spring it produces multiple stems of tall flower stems all boasting these beautiful pink flowers.

Recommended in a pot or on your windowsill.
