Crassula coccinea quick care tips

Crassula coccinea is a drought-tolerant succulent variety, so watering around once per week in the peak growing season is advised. Ensure the soil dries between waterings following the 3 Ds: drench, drain and dry. It is also advised to completely stop watering when conditions are frosty, keeping the plant dry for several months at a time over winter.

Crassula coccinea likes to be fed to bring out its best forms and colours. We recommend feeding with a liquid seaweed feed every 2 weeks in the main growing season from April to September.

Crassula coccinea needs free draining soil to thrive. We recommend a mixture of 1/3 John Innes no.2, 1/3 perlite and 1/3 coconut coir. The soil mix we offer here is similar in composition to this.

Crassula coccinea

Also known as the Red Crassula. A species native to South Africa.

Crassula coccinea is a compact, multi-stemmed succulent about 20-30cm diameter by 20-30cm height. It has stunning bright red flowers in June/July which would be a highlight of any succulent collection.

The flower will show up any display. Pot with other succulents with similar flower times to create a beautiful array of succulent blooms.
