Sedum burrito quick care tips

Watering

Sedum burrito is a drought-tolerant succulent variety, so watering around once per week in the peak growing season is advised. Ensure the soil dries between waterings following the 3 Ds: drench, drain and dry. It is also advised to completely stop watering when conditions are frosty, keeping the plant dry for several months at a time over winter.

Feeding

Sedum burrito likes to be fed to bring out its best forms and colours. We recommend feeding with a liquid seaweed feed every 2 weeks in the main growing season from April to September. A feed we recommend is the one from our friends at LittleGreenSeaweed.

Ideal soil

Sedum burrito needs free draining soil to thrive. We recommend a mixture of 1/3 John Innes no.2, 1/3 perlite and 1/3 coconut coir. The soil mix we offer here is similar in composition to this.

Sedum burrito

Also known by its common name Burro's Tail. Previously labelled Sedum morganianum. A trailing succulent with a rumoured origin of being a vegetative sport or natural hybrid of Sedum morganianum.

A lovely trailing succulent with small, bead-like leaves that feature colours ranging from lime green, blue and red. All dependant on light levels. It blooms in spring with small, star-shaped pink flowers.

Looks great grown on its own or as part of a planting combination. Can be used in hanging baskets.
