Pachyphytum glutinicaule quick care tips

Watering

Pachyphytum glutinicaule is a drought-tolerant succulent variety, so watering around once per week in the peak growing season is advised. Ensure the soil dries between waterings following the 3 Ds: drench, drain and dry. It is also advised to completely stop watering when conditions are frosty, keeping the plant dry for several months at a time over winter.

Feeding

Pachyphytum glutinicaule likes to be fed to bring out its best forms and colours. We recommend feeding with a liquid seaweed feed every 2 weeks in the main growing season from April to September.

Ideal soil

Pachyphytum glutinicaule needs free draining soil to thrive. We recommend a mixture of 1/3 John Innes no.2, 1/3 perlite and 1/3 coconut coir. The soil mix we offer here is similar in composition to this.

Pachyphytum glutinicaule

A species native to Mexico.

Pachyphytum glutinicaule is purple-blue in colour and will offset freely if given the space. As it grows the plant will produce attractive rosettes on the end of each branching stem. Produces drooping bell-shaped flowers in the summer.

A stunning specimen that grows to large sizes. Great as a feature plant.
