Echeveria secunda ISI 2001-30 quick care tips

Watering

Echeveria secunda ISI 2001-30 is a drought-tolerant succulent variety, so watering around once per week in the peak growing season is advised. Ensure the soil dries between waterings. It is also advised to completely stop watering when conditions are frosty, keeping the plant dry for several months at a time.

Feeding

Echeveria secunda ISI 2001-30 likes to be fed to bring out its best forms and colours. We recommend feeding with a liquid seaweed feed every 2 weeks in the main growing season from April to September. A feed we recommend is the one from our friends at LittleGreenSeaweed.

Ideal soil

Echeveria secunda ISI 2001-30 needs free draining soil to thrive. We recommend a mixture of 1/3 John Innes no.2, 1/3 perlite and 1/3 coconut coir. The soil mix we offer here is similar in composition to this. Adding extra grit may be useful to add even more drainage for these desert-dwellers.

Echeveria secunda ISI 2001-30

Echeveria secunda (ISI 2001-30) was first collected in Tlaxcala, Mexico.

This is a select introduction of Echeveria secunda which has a more compact form with pink tip markings than the species. It will bloom in spring with glaucous pink flower stems at around 1ft tall, the flowers are yellow and red in a star form.

Perfect to mix with other succulents or to start your own collection.
