Echeveria gibbiflora quick care tips

Watering

Echeveria gibbiflora is a drought-tolerant succulent variety, so watering around once per week in the peak growing season is advised. Ensure the soil dries between waterings. It is also advised to completely stop watering when conditions are frosty, keeping the plant dry for several months at a time.

Feeding

Echeveria gibbiflora likes to be fed to bring out its best forms and colours. We recommend feeding with a liquid seaweed feed every 2 weeks in the main growing season from April to September.

Ideal soil

Echeveria gibbiflora needs free draining soil to thrive. We recommend a mixture of 1/3 John Innes no.2, 1/3 perlite and 1/3 coconut coir. The soil mix we offer here is similar in composition to this. Adding extra grit may be useful to add even more drainage for these desert-dwellers.

Echeveria gibbiflora

Echeveria gibbiflora is a beautiful species from Mexico that can grow to a very good size if given the space to do so.

It's an exciting Echeveria to grow as it changes colour from an attractive blue to a purple and then finally in strong light turns to this bright coral colouring.

As it grows it drops its lower leaves revealing this attractive thick stem allowing for under-planting with other low growing varieties such as Echeveria elegans or a mixture of Sempervivums.
