Aeonium 'Medusa' quick care tips

Watering

The Aeonium 'Medusa' would like watering between once and twice per week in the peak growing season. It is advised to reduce watering when plants are dormant due to a heatwave and to significantly reduce/ stop watering when conditions are frosty.

Feeding

Aeonium 'Medusa' likes to be fed to bring out its best forms and colours. We recommend feeding with a liquid seaweed feed every 2 weeks in the main growing season from April to September. A feed we recommend is the one from our friends at LittleGreenSeaweed.

Ideal soil

Aeonium 'Medusa' needs free draining soil to thrive. We recommend a mixture of 1/3 John Innes no.2, 1/3 perlite and 1/3 coconut coir. The soil mix we offer here is similar in composition to this.

Aeonium 'Medusa'

Aeonium 'Medusa' is one of the most beautiful variegated Aeoniums that has ever existed. It's believed to be a variegated form of Aeonium 'Velour'. With rumours of a sport from Aeonium 'Velour' originating from Holland.

The variegation stays incredibly strong in the plant and holds excellent form as it grows. In the summer, the variegation is a hot red colour, and as winter approaches, the outer leave edges turn a creamy-white. It is a beautiful and stunning combination, especially when this Aeonium reaches mature size.

Grow in part-shade during the summer to enhance the plant's variegation, protect from frost and cold weather.

Promising aeonium.

Have just received a nice little plant that looks a promising colour. I look forward to seeing it in full glory come spring/summer.
