Aeonium 'Maximus' quick care tips

Watering

The Aeonium 'Maximus' would like watering between once and twice per week in the peak growing season. It is advised to reduce watering when plants are dormant due to a heatwave and to significantly reduce/ stop watering when conditions are frosty.

Feeding

Aeonium 'Maximus' likes to be fed to bring out its best forms and colours. We recommend feeding with a liquid seaweed feed every 2 weeks in the main growing season from April to September. A feed we recommend is the one from our friends at LittleGreenSeaweed.

Ideal soil

Aeonium 'Maximus' needs free draining soil to thrive. We recommend a mixture of 1/3 John Innes no.2, 1/3 perlite and 1/3 coconut coir. The soil mix we offer here is similar in composition to this.

Aeonium 'Maximus'

A 2016 hybrid, Aeonium 'Maximus' really is something a bit different. It forms a cluster of rosettes around a larger central rosette. It has a mid-green colouring with striations on the underside of its leaves with striking slender sword-like leaves. It is quite free-flowering with attractive yellow flowers on branching flower stems to 50-60cm. Its parentage is A. cuneatum x A. simsii.
