Echeveria venezualensis quick care tips

Watering

Echeveria venezualensis is a drought-tolerant succulent variety, so watering around once per week in the peak growing season is advised. Ensure the soil dries between waterings. It is also advised to completely stop watering when conditions are frosty, keeping the plant dry for several months at a time.

Feeding

Echeveria venezualensis likes to be fed to bring out its best forms and colours. We recommend feeding with a liquid seaweed feed every 2 weeks in the main growing season from April to September. A feed we recommend is the one from our friends at LittleGreenSeaweed.

Ideal soil

Echeveria venezualensis needs free draining soil to thrive. We recommend a mixture of 1/3 John Innes no.2, 1/3 perlite and 1/3 coconut coir. The soil mix we offer here is similar in composition to this. Adding extra grit may be useful to add even more drainage for these desert-dwellers.

Echeveria venezualensis

This Echeveria is a species and, as its name suggests, native to Venezuela.

This plant is upwards growing. Once tall enough, the plant offsets to create a clumping effect, leaving the main head in its natural form, untouched. It starts blue and becomes a very attractive purple colour, darkening in strong light. It flowers in the spring.

A great plant for a succulent bowl to add height. A highly desirable plant.
