Echeveria moranii quick care tips

Watering

Echeveria moranii is a drought-tolerant succulent variety, so watering around once per week in the peak growing season is advised. Ensure the soil dries between waterings. It is also advised to completely stop watering when conditions are frosty, keeping the plant dry for several months at a time.

Feeding

Echeveria moranii likes to be fed to bring out its best forms and colours. We recommend feeding with a liquid seaweed feed every 2 weeks in the main growing season from April to September. A feed we recommend is the one from our friends at LittleGreenSeaweed.

Ideal soil

Echeveria moranii needs free draining soil to thrive. We recommend a mixture of 1/3 John Innes no.2, 1/3 perlite and 1/3 coconut coir. The soil mix we offer here is similar in composition to this. Adding extra grit may be useful to add even more drainage for these desert-dwellers.

Echeveria moranii

A species native to Mexico.

This rare and hard to propagate species can grow to a large size. It features attractive leaf margins that colour up a pinky-red in strong light. The leaves form an open rosette and are of a ghostly white colour in natural conditions. Flowers in late spring/summer of pink colouring.

A great plant, worthy of a feature spot on a windowsill.
