Crassula pyramidalis quick care tips

Watering

Crassula pyramidalis is a drought-tolerant succulent variety, so watering around once per week in the peak growing season is advised. Ensure the soil dries between waterings following the 3 Ds: drench, drain and dry. It is also advised to completely stop watering when conditions are frosty, keeping the plant dry for several months at a time over winter.

Feeding

Crassula pyramidalis likes to be fed to bring out its best forms and colours. We recommend feeding with a liquid seaweed feed every 2 weeks in the main growing season from April to September.

Ideal soil

Crassula pyramidalis needs free draining soil to thrive. We recommend a mixture of 1/3 John Innes no.2, 1/3 perlite and 1/3 coconut coir. The soil mix we offer here is similar in composition to this.

Crassula pyramidalis

Crassula pyramidalis, also known as the Pagoda Mini Jade, is a slow-growing sculptural succulent.

It features a square-shaped column of tightly packed thin leaves that will blush red under intense light.

This species dies back after flowering, but pups will grow from the base. Not only does it offset after flowering, but it will offset multiple times during the season to create a fantastic sculpture.

The flowers are white/pink and create a pompom-like look on the top of the succulent.

This unusual plant makes a perfect standalone plant on a windowsill due to its drought-tolerant characteristics. Would also make a brilliant contrast in a mixed succulent planter.
