Graptopetalum rusbyi est une succulente prolifique qui forme des touffes et produit des rosettes gris-vert pastel nuancées de rose et de lilas sous une forte luminosité. Originaire des pentes rocheuses de l'Arizona et du nord du Mexique, elle prospère dans un sol graveleux et bien drainé et en plein soleil, récompensant les cultivateurs par des couleurs vives et une croissance compacte. Rustique jusqu'à environ −3 °C, elle ne tolère pas le gel et doit donc être cultivée en pot et mise à l'abri en hiver. Cette espèce se multiplie facilement par rejets et même par feuilles égarées, formant rapidement des monticules denses qui débordent joliment des pots ou des rocailles, ce qui en fait un excellent choix pour les collectionneurs et les débutants.
