Il s'agit de la forme panachée d'Agave lophantha qui est une plante très attrayante, lumineuse et ornementale.
L'Agave lophantha 'Quadricolor' a des feuilles très fines et robustes par rapport à la plupart des autres Agaves. Comme beaucoup d'Agaves, elle peut résister à des températures froides allant jusqu'à -10°C, mais cela nécessitera un sol très bien drainé. C'est un Agave à croissance compacte qui peut atteindre 50 cm de hauteur et d'envergure à maturité.
Il est préférable de la cultiver en plein soleil, et avec un apport régulier d'engrais pendant la saison de croissance, elle atteindra une taille respectable en temps voulu. Elle peut être cultivée en pleine terre ou en pot et il est préférable de la planter avec une bonne couche de gravier horticole ou de gravillons afin que l'eau et la pluie puissent s'écouler librement. Il est également conseillé d'incliner l'Agave pour que la couronne ne retienne pas l'eau. Ceci est particulièrement important par temps froid et gélif.
