Sempervivum ‘Rothart’

£4.95

Sempervivum ‘Rothart’ is a very attractive tight clustering variety, its initial offsets tend to appear green contrasting beautifully with the purple colouring of the central rosette, these will eventually take on the same appearance to create a stunning little plant. The webbing helps protect the succulent against cold temperatures and high intense light levels, it can also catch the mist of a cloud passing through a mountainous habitat.

Sempervivums come in a fantastic array of colours, forms and textures. They make outstanding garden plants either planted straight out into a rockery or simply planted in pots outside all year round. To achieve the colours these beautiful alpine succulents possess they must receive a minimum of 6 hours full sun a day (more sun more intense colour) during the Spring and Summer.

They are incredibly hardy, surviving temperatures down to -15°C and even lower in some cases. We find that during the spring they are very hungry plants, we recommend to feed them once every two weeks with a liquid seaweed dilution or simply re-pot with a slow release fertiliser feed mixed into a gritty compost mix, this will encourage the Sempervivums to have many new offsets and to put on a magnificent flowering display ideal for nectar loving insects.
