Sempervivum calcareum ‘Extra’
£4.95
Sempervivum calcareum ‘Extra’ is an absolutely stunning variety, with its silver-grey foliage and black outer margins makes this one of the most beautiful and architectural.
It was originally grown as a natural form of Sempervivum calcareum, but because of its distant appearance and Beauty is was given the name Extra by Howard Wills.
Sempervivums come in a fantastic array of colours, form and texture. They make outstanding garden plants either planted straight out into a rockery or simply planted in pots outside all year round.
They are incredibly hardy, surviving temperatures down to -15°C and even lower in some cases. We find that during the spring they are very hungry plants, we recommend to feed them once every two weeks with a liquid seaweed dilution or simply repot with a slow-release fertiliser feed mixed into the compost, this will encourage the succulents to produce many new offsets.
