The fabulous, slow-growing Echeveria purpusorum is a distinctive species from Mexico. It’s attractive deep green leaves with flecks of red that resemble the skin of a little lizard, they can withstand high temperatures and look quite pointy and sharp to touch but are in fact quite delicate and kind.
In it’s natural habitat, it grows on rocky outcrops which allow the water to pass through the root system very quickly.
They grow well on sunny windowsills. Use free-draining soil mix and water after soil drys.
During the growing season, it’s always advised to feed Echeverias as this will encourage more flowers and a faster growth rate. Ensure as much sunlight gets to the plants as possible as this will encourage them to grow naturally without having to reach for the light.
